I had a day trip out to Jenolan Caves on the weekend and went through Leura. This is a day-trip I had been wanting to do for a long time. It would usually take just over 2 and a half hours to get to Jenolan Caves from Sydney but stopping off in the little town of Leura takes the trip a bit longer. This is because at Leura Mall, there are several must stop-in boutique stores that you can’t resist but take a look to see what they have. I quite liked Gifts and Things with their varied product range including Crabtree and Evelyn products, jewellery and homewares.
My favourite though was Elizabeth Rosa Fine Stationery but that’s because I love stationery and gift items. There were candles, journals, writing stationery, fine papers and it stocked Vera Wang designer stationery.
Unfortunately as I wanted to wait until we returned to Leura after Jenolan Caves because I was thinking I did not want melted chocolate, I did not get a chance to go to Josophan’s Fine Chocolate on the way back. It was closed just on 5pm. All I can say is that it looked very gourmet from the outside.
Try and stop in at one of the cafes to have a bite to eat and a hot beverage before you continue on your way through or on your journey home.
Autumn is a great season to go through Katoomba as the colours of the leaves on the trees are so picturesque evident from this shot taken at Leura Mall. These gorgeous colours can be seen on your scenic drive through Katoomba.
